“Blest be the tie that binds our hearts in Christian love; the fellowship of kindred minds is like to that above.” That beloved hymn captures our life together at St. Peter, both in the blessings of last month and the opportunities in this new month of May. Last month, the hymn came alive among us.
We kept Holy Week and Easter, welcomed new members, shared in fellowship and service, and cared for families in their time of loss. Our youth served on Palm Sunday by making cards and bags and by helping in the cemetery.
We also give thanks to God for the approval of significant capital improvements to the church and fellowship hall.
This May, the tie that binds continues to draw us together.
On May 10, Mother’s Day, we will celebrate our high school graduates with a special recognition and hamburger lunch, hosted by our Men of Faith so that our women may enjoy their day.
On May 17, there will be no services at St. Peter that Sunday morning so that we may join St. Paul for worship and a church picnic at Rheingold Country School.
(Please sign up for both the lunch and the picnic on the sheets in the church entry-way)
Then on May 20, we will share the love of Jesus through nursing home devotions in Fredericksburg.
And when we walk with one another through both joy and sorrow, we are reminded again: “Blest be the tie that binds our hearts in Christian love.”
In Christ,
Pastor Clint
