October will be a special month with many reminders of who we are in Christ and of the mission and ministry we share.
Coming off our pulpit exchange with our sister congregation, Holy Ghost, on Sept. 27, we will take our turn leading the Gillespie County Ministerial Association nursing home devotions on Oct. 8, join both of our sister congregations for the Holy Ghost church picnic at the Gillespie County Fair Grounds on Oct. 11, and on Oct. 25 give thanks for 130 years of ministry at St. Peter.
Praise God from whom all blessings flow!
Our sermon series this month, “Teach Us to Pray,” will lead us through the opening petitions of the Lord’s Prayer:
Our Father, Hallowed be Thy Name, and then, on Reformation Sunday, Thy Kingdom Come.
That seems especially fitting as we celebrate St. Peter’s 130th anniversary on Oct. 25, rededicate our church and Parish Hall following the recent work and improvements, and gather for a special congregational luncheon.
Don’t forget to sign up!
For 130 years, generations have gathered here to pray, worship, hear God’s Word, and receive His grace. The times have changed in more ways than we can count, but the prayer remains the same:
Thy Kingdom come.
We give thanks for the faith that has been handed down to us, but we also pray that God’s kingdom would continue to come among us, through us, and to the generations still to come!
So, Lord, teach us to pray…
In Jesus’ name,
Pastor Clint
